In order to better protect your investment, we recommend to stain or paint your building. Staining: If natural look of the wood is preferred, a clear sealer may be used within one (1) year of purchase. If color is preferred, we recommend to use two coats of solid stain instead of the paint, since stain will penetrate deeper in to the wood and will be easier to reapply in future. Painting: If paint is a preference, we recommend to wait at least one year to paint your barn, to make sure all the wood is perfectly dry. The battens will shrink in several months and will show some bare wood on siding if barn will be painted right away. For a longer paint life, dry seasons are preferred, when siding holds very little moisture.
