Maintenance of Wooden Horse Barns & Sheds

In order to better protect your investment, we recommend to stain or paint your building.

Staining: If natural look of the wood is preferred, a clear sealer or clear stain may be used to better protect your barn. If color is preferred, we recommend to use two coats of solid stain instead of the paint, since stain will penetrate deeper in to the wood  and will be easier to reapply in future.

Painting: If paint is a preference, we recommend to use a good quality primer and at least 2 coats of good quality paint.  For a longer paint life, dry seasons are preferred, when siding holds very little moisture.

If you do not want to paint or stain your barn yourself, we will be glad to stain it for you.  We offer over 50 different "Behr" stains.  If you order your barn stained, we will stain your run in shed or shedrow barn inside the shop.  Your center aisle barn will be stained on site.
